During June, A2i conducted Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and Business Administration training for cooperative leaders and individual entrepreneurs in the grain value chain.

The cooperative leaders are now able to develop sound and viable business cases and can make investment decisions from an informed perspective to increase their chance of success as well as their chance of securing finance for development of their businesses.

RBC is also a core element of our project partners operational activities, supported by Danida. The RBC training empowered the leaders to be in a better position to mainstream the UN global compact guideline principles of responsible business into their day-to-day operations, thus encouraging fair agribusiness.

“We are receiving positive feedback from the trainees who are appreciative of the value proposition of the training,” says Yango Azando, A2i project coordinator in East Africa.

Two projects received the training:

  • Enhancing Irrigation to improve Climate adaptation and Sustain Smallholder Production Systems in Uganda (DGBP)
  • Integrated Grain Handling Project for Rural Communities in Uganda (DMDP)
