The 17 delegates from leading Danish companies.
The 2026 Uganda delegation was a targeted effort to connect Danish agribusiness innovators with local stakeholders. Organized by the Danish Embassy in Uganda, Access2innovation (A2i), and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, it took place from April 20-23. The event brought together 17 delegates from leading Danish companies, demonstrating a strong commitment to East African market entry.
“The Uganda delegation was a resounding success, with 17 delegates securing 58 B2B meetings and key introductions at the Danish Embassy and President’s Office – proving that Danish innovation meets real East African opportunities head-on,” says John Magnay, A2i Representative East Africa.
From Pigs and Poultry to Energy and Data
Participating firms included industry leaders like Cimbria (seed processing and grain handling), Orana A/S (agro-processing), DanBred (pig genetics), FOSS (data analytics for food and agro), GSOL Energy (off-grid power), LINCO Incubator (poultry incubators), Baader (poultry processing and Novonesis (enzymes and additives for food, feed, livestock & biofuels). These companies represent a mix of technologies essential for modernizing Uganda’s agricultural sector.
58 B2B Meetings in three Days
Over three intensive days, the delegation delivered high-impact engagements. Highlights included a meeting at the Danish Embassy with five presentations, a session at the President’s Office featuring five presentations to 30 hosts, and a reception with 49 partner guests. The centerpiece was 58 B2B meetings, facilitated by logistics like 10 EV cabs, a minibus, two cars, and five chaperones.
Great Results Coming Up
Standout performances underscored the event’s success: DanBred secured the most B2B meetings (14) plus outreach to 30 farmers; Baader traveled the farthest (over 200 km); Novonesis received the best follow-up callback; and Cimbria identified the strongest new business opportunities. These results highlight how tailored interactions can yield immediate leads in a receptive market.
Join us for our Next Delegations to Tanzania and Kenya
Access2innovation is supporting follow-ups on leads generated. Upcoming delegations to Tanzania and Kenya later in 2026 signal broader East African momentum, where similar dynamics of agricultural reform and investment appetite exist. Uganda’s event proves that combining Danish innovation with local policy support can drive food system transformation.
“With Tanzania and Kenya next on the horizon later this year, we’re excited to build on Uganda’s momentum – Access2innovation stands ready to support your leads and help Danish companies tap into East Africa’s booming agribusiness potential,” summarizes John Magnay.

“Food system transformation comes when good investments and technology, good government policy and an intention to move industry forward. Uganda might just be the place where this happens.”
Key aspects of Ugandan agribusiness:
- The agricultural sector in Uganda accounts for a significant part of the country’s GDP and export earnings. With the agricultural sector employing approximately 70% of population, the sector plays a crucial part for the country’s economy.
- Uganda is very close to its target of lower-middle-income status – partly through serious reform of the agricultural sector from subsistence farming to commercial farming. The sector is now more competitive and profitable.
- Urbanisation is high, the middle class is growing and demand for agricultural production increasing.
- All of the above offer great opportunities for Danish companies. The demand for improved quality production and processing equipment, cold-chain facilities, packaging and storing facilities is high, and the need for quality control remains a challenge for Ugandan agricultural exports.
