Student Rasmus Lie Nielsen has returned from a six-week internship with access2innovation partners in Kasese.
The internship is part of Rasmus’ 9th semester project work at his Environmental Management programme at Aalborg University.
In Kasese, he worked in close collaboration with the Municipal Council, who is in the process of implementing clean energy solutions throughout the city; focusing – among other things – on energy for cooking, access to electricity and waste and sewage handling.
“In regards to my education, the trip has been a very important experience,” says Rasmus. “And the warmth and hospitality of the Ugandan people has made a great impression on me, that makes me want to go back to the beautiful country.”
Kasese has been chosen by WWF as a Green energy Champion District, involving a number of key stakeholders to make clean energy available to all by 2020.
