access2innovation brings together civil organizations, private businesses and the academic world in new collaborations to help create new sustainable solutions and business models targeting developing countries.

Based on established partnerships and grants received from the European Social Fund and Danish Research Council, access2innovation will be focusing on the following areas throughout 2011 – 2013:

• Renewable energy
• Food Security
• Water and sanitation

Within these three areas, access2innovation will be launching the following activities:

• Identifying more than 120 specific market opportunities and product demands within renewable energy, food security and water and sanitation in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya
• Hosting 10 open workshops representing 60 specific market/customer demands within renewable energy, food security and water and sanitation
• Providing financial support of up to 50.000 DKR for 10 feasibility studies
• Facilitating target-oriented workshops for private companies, NGOs and scientists with the aim of developing at least 15 potential business concepts
• Providing financial support of up to 250.000 DKR for five innovation partnerships aimed at developing and testing products, services or concepts aimed at humanitarian and development aid
• Carry out targeted training in business development, technology assessment and user involvement for selected innovative partnershipsaimed at humanitarian and development aid

The access2innovation network is open to any interested company, civil organization or researcher who would like to be involved in innovative collaborations and developing processes and changing the future for developing countries.

However, please note that private companies who wish to gain access the partnership and its financial resources must be willing to co-finance the working hours allocated to the project.
