The access2innovation association board is elected at the general assembly and resides for two years at a time.

The current board was elected on April 23rd, 2018

Funding

 

The access2innovation network is open to any interested company or branch organisation, civil society organisation, public institution or research institution, who would like to test the business potentials in emerging markets in East Africa. However, please note that private companies who wish to gain access to the network and its financial resources must be willing to co-finance the working hours allocated to the project.

Access2innovation is supported by the The European Regional Development Fund and can provide funding to its partners under the following circumstances:

  • Main applicant must be a company from Region Nord, Central Denmark Region, South Denmark Region or Fyn in partnership with companies, researchers and NGOs;
  • Applications for funding to Go N See trips of up to DDK 10.000 + co-financing can be submitted continuously to the access2innovation secretariat;
  • Applications for funding up to DDK 200.000. Applications can be submitted continuously to the access2innovation secretariat;
  • Submitted budgets should be based on factual salary documented by time registrations and copy of paycheck quarterly.


Throughout 2015, access2innovation focus on the following areas:

  • Agribusiness
  • Aquaculture
  • Renewable energy
  • Logistics
  • Relief


Within these four areas, access2innovation will be launching the following activities:

  • Screening of at least 30 companies and their potentials;
  • Identifying more than 10 specific market opportunities and product demands in relation to our focus areas in Tanzania and Kenya;
  • Presenting the identified market opportunities at a Launching Workshop on the 30th April 2015;
  • Lanching 3-6 partnerships with the involvement of 20 companies;
  • Scale-up of 3 projects;
  • Provide financial support for developing growth plans for companies based in Northern Jutland - up to 100.000 DKK

Jacob Ravn
PhD, CEO

Jacob Ravn has been the project manager of access2Innovation since 2007 and brings a wealth of experience to the team, having successfully launched numerous spin-off ventures through applied network-based innovation. Through 5 years previous work at the Danish Red Cross, Jacob possesses in-depth knowledge of the Danish and international NGO sector. Jacob holds a PhD in network based business model innovation aimed at aid and relief work from Aalborg University, an MA in International Politics from Ceris (Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques) in Belgium as well as an MSc in Public Administration from Aalborg University in Denmark.

Ole Stein
Program manager

Ole Stein has practical hands-on experience from NGO work and private businesses working with development of renewable energy projects in countries like Bulgaria, Italy, Namibia, Mali and Uganda - focusing mainly on building profitable business in coherence with poverty reduction.
Ole joins access2Innovation on a part time basis from a position as Director of Projects in Aarhus.
He holds an M.Sc. in Engineering (Environmental Management) from Aalborg University in Denmark.

Henrik Anker-Ladefoged
Program manager

Henrik Anker-Ladefoged has been working with agricultural projects in Africa, Eastern Europe, East Asia and Middle East since 1985. His experience covers project-planning and implementation including preparation of production- and business plans, market surveys and marketing, financial analysis and staff administration.
He has been working as a consultant for both the private as well as the public sector, and as an investor he has hand-on experience and an extensive network in Denmark and East Africa. Recently, he has developed a solar powered incubator system for rural areas in developing countries. For more information, please visit Chicken incubators at our website.
He holds a diploma in general agriculture and Bachelor of Science in economy, and joins access2innovation on a part time basis from a position as manager for Agro Business Development Ltd., Denmark.

Thomas Augustinus
Program manager

Thomas Augustinus has worked for more than 10 years with international development assistance and business development through employment in organizations such as the Mekong River Commission and the World Bank. He has a broad background with experience in natural resource management, large infrastructure projects (hydro-power) as well as development of small and medium size enterprises in the context of developing countries.
Thomas also brings along experience as a member of the Board of Directors of a charity foundation, CARE-Denmark as well as several Danish companies. He holds an M.Sc. in Human Geography from Copenhagen University and an Executive MBA from Copenhagen Business School..

Morten Penthin Svendsen

Morten P. Svendsen holds an M.Sc in Social Science and International Relations from Aalborg University. After years of working with policy-making and management consulting at both Confederation of Danish Industries and ICF Consulting Group in Brussels, Belgium, Morten joins access2innovation with a strong focus on developing the secretariats impact investing and partnerships financing initiatives.

Anders Anker-Ladefoged
Program coordinator

Anders holds a MSc in Economics and business administration (International Business Economics) from Aalborg University, and an AP Degree in Marketing Management from UCN. 
Anders has gained international experience in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and in 2016 he worked for 4 months for a Danish company in Dar es Salaam during an internship. Anders has mainly been working with value chain analysis, market analysis and strategic planning, primarily within agribusiness.

Jakob Brodersen
Communication coordinator

Jakob takes care of access2innovation's communication strategy. From website content to newsletters, publications, press releases, video documentaries and coordination with partnership communication departments as well as journalists from other media.
He has more than ten years of experience with corporate communication and has done a variety of work within communication on different levels and at different platforms - ranging from national tv and radio to web and print to setting up and heading a communication department.
He is a graduate from the Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus, specialising in investigative tv journalism and international politics and has written and edited several books.
