The access2innovation association can now allocate 5.9 million DKK in partnership funding from a new programme aimed at East African growth markets. With 50 percent co-financing the total amount adds up to 11.8 million DKK.
Through the funding programme “Partnership Driven Innovation for the East African Growth Markets” (PIVØ), partnerships consisting of a minimum of three private companies and one knowledge institution can obtain funding of up to more than half a million DKR.
The programme is expected to support six different partnerships that focus on developing solutions, products or concepts for the East African markets within sustainable energy, agri-business, water, construction or IT.
Grants can be given to support both the concept development phase (grants of up to 50.000 DKR) as well as the test phase (grants of up to 475.000 DKR).
The funding programme is aimed specifically at small and medium sized companies.
In order to qualify, the companies must have a positive equity as well as the organisational capacity to complete the project.
Furthermore, potential solutions must be scalable and new to either companies or market.
Companies must contribute with funding in form of man-hours or cash.
