Remaining a front-runner

The acess2innovation debate meeting on April  24th focused on challenges related to partnership driven innovation in developing countries.

At the public meeting at Aalborg’s Utzon Centre insightful presentations by researchers, companies, CSOs and the Danish Foreign Ministry were followed by an engaging debate moderated by journalist and Africa entrepreneur Axel Boisen.

The constructive and frank discussion revealed a broad dedication to continuous collaboration, but at the same time clarified some of the numerous challenges that are inevitably linked to a partnership driven innovation process.

The conclusion reached by the participants and panelists was that access2innovation is the leading front-runner within partnership innovation for developing markets.

To remain in this position, the secretariat will be tuning the coming year’s activities in accordance with the following key points:

  • Strengthening the collaboration between the association members through thematic value chain approach and increased local anchoring
  • Adding more focus to research driven innovation collaborations
  • Attracting new private and public funding to scale up existing partnerships

At the general assembly following the public debate meeting, the board members were re-elected.
