The Danish minister for development Christian Friis Bach visited access2innovation and access2innovation partner SystemTeknik on a visit to Aalborg last Thursday.

During the visit the minister attended meetings at Aalborg University and visited SystemTeknik that is preparing small-scale solar-based grid-solutions for rural villages in Kasese, Uganda.

The minister was notably impressed with SystemTeknik’s work.
“The perspectives are enormous. Without electricity you can never shed away poverty,” he said – pointing out the possibilities for Danish companies and researchers who enter partnerships with NGOs to develop sustainable solutions for the developing world market.

“More than half of the World’s fastest growing economies can be found in Sub-Saharan Africa,” he says.
