Vietnamese delegation visits Danish partners in waste

Six Vietnamese delegates from potential partnering companies URENCO and Vitec are visiting the Danish companies Kom-Tek, Odense Renovation and Aaen to look at waste chains and biogas solutions in Denmark.

The visit is part of the waste-to-energy project in Vietnam that is supported by access2innovation.

The delegation follows a series of visits by Danish companies to Vietnam over the last six months to identify local partners that can help transforming waste from an eco hazard to a source of energy and revenue for both Vietnamese and Danish companies.

While in Denmark, the Vietnamese delegation will be visiting the entire Danish waste-chain; from collection to sorting, biogas production, incineration and composting.

“These are the first steps of a long, long way, but I see a very large potential. Not for Kom-Tek alone, but for the whole sector that is working with green technology for waste handling,” says Kom-Tek head of development Bjarne Larsen.

“There is going to be a lot of investment in waste in Vietnam over the next 20 years. They have to get the technology from somewhere. That somewhere should be Denmark.”
