On March 20th – 26th, 2017, access2innovation and Quercus Group will be facilitating a Danida supported business delegation trip to Kenya and Tanzania.
Housing shortage is a huge problem throughout the East African region. As a result, the market for quality affordable housing in the East African region represents an enormous untapped potential for housing development.
The governments of Tanzania and Kenya are actively seeking new ways to meet the growing demand for housing that is within the financial reach for the majority of the growing population. Therefore, solutions that are critically needed as part of the low-cost housing ecosystem include affordable building materials, renewable energy products, slum upgrading solutions and water and sanitation solutions.
The aim of the delegation trip is to provide Danish enterprises with a deeper insight into the needs and market opportunities in affordable housing in Kenya and Tanzania, visit relevant sites and establish a network with potential business partners, investors, relevant officials and other key stakeholders.
The trip is aimed at Danish companies that work with water and sanitation solutions, solar energy, construction, roofing, interior and lighting, waste solutions, ICT and climate adaptation solutions (eg. for handling heavy rainfall).
